CHRISTIANS AGAINST POVERTY

Christians Against Poverty was set up to help and support people crippled by debt; parents who couldn’t feed their children, families facing eviction and desperate people living in fear and without hope. CAP workers and volunteers are trained to negotiate with creditors, set up budgeting systems and offer a lifeline to those trapped in debt. Caroline, our trained CAP advisor, comes alongside those in the most difficult circumstances and walks with them, to equip them and to see them walking in freedom.

Lowestoft Foodbank / FISH
From the 1st April 2025, Lowestoft Foodbank and Food in School Holidays (FISH) are now operated by an independent charity. The Rob Clarke Community Trust is a local grassroots charity dedicated to addressing poverty in Lowestoft and surrounding areas.
Helping local people in crisis. Lowestoft Foodbank provides three days’ nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to local people who are referred to them in crisis. They are part of a nationwide network of foodbanks, supported by The Trussell Trust, working to combat poverty and hunger across the UK.
The FISH project has grown over the years in Lowestoft and now seeks to serve families in Lowestoft throughout the town every day during the school holidays. Working in partnership with other local churches and organisations, FISH aims to provide children and their families who would normally rely on free school meals with a free meal during the holidays when the schools are closed.
Visit the Lowestoft Foodbank Website for more details, or The Rob Clarke Community Trust Website to donate to these projects.
