Loving Jesus, loving church

CHILDREN & YOUTH

Growing in faith

We believe children and young people are a gift from God, and we love having them as part of our church family. At LCC, we want to do all we can to share who Jesus is and what He has done, helping them grow in their faith and equipping them to follow Him.

During our Sunday gatherings, children explore faith in Jesus through age-specific groups for ages 3-5 and Years 2-6. Through Bible stories, teaching, songs, and games, we seek to share the gospel, encourage faith, and help children grow as followers of Jesus.

As our young people move into Years 7-9 we want to help them navigate the challenges they face each day through the lens of the good news of Jesus. Each week, they have the opportunity to gather together, read the Bible, explore what it means to follow Jesus, and ask honest questions about life and faith.

As a church family, our heart is to see children and young people grow into men and women who know God, understand who they are in Him, and be equipped to follow Jesus with confidence in the years ahead.

BRINGING KIDS?

Sundays at LCC

We run age-appropriate groups every Sunday, creating a safe, fun and welcoming environment where children and young people can explore faith, build friendships, and grow in their relationship with Jesus.

UP TO AGE 1

Newborns and babies

Babies are welcome to stay in the main service. For those who prefer it, we have a crèche available where you can still listen to the service through the audio feed.

AGE 1 - 2

Toddlers

We have a Toddler Room with toys and space for free play. Parents and guardians are asked to stay with their child whilst they enjoy this space together.

AGE 3 - 5

Early years

A fun and engaging group where children can discover more about God through planned activities, songs and age-appropriate Bible teaching. Our leaders love helping children learn about Jesus in a safe, welcoming environment.

The group starts partway through the service.

YEARS 2 - 6

Children (ages 6-11)

A fun and engaging group where children can discover more about God through age-appropriate Bible teaching, activities, and songs. Our leaders love helping children learn about Jesus and grow in their faith.

The group starts partway through the service.

YEARS 7 - 9

Youth

After our time of worship, young people head out for a group led by our youth leaders. Through fun, planned sessions, they have the opportunity to explore questions about God, read the Bible, and grow in their faith together.

Where do I go?

Our welcome team will be happy to help you find the right room for your child and answer any questions you may have.

If it’s your first time attending one of our children’s or youth groups, we’ll ask you to complete a registration form so we can make sure we have the information needed to care well for your child.

Our Children & Youth Ministry workers are passionate volunteers who love Jesus, value young people and are committed to supporting their spiritual formation. Everyone who serves in our Children & Youth groups is DBS checked and has undertaken safeguarding training, so you can feel confident that your children are cared for in a safe and welcoming environment.

MIDWEEK CLUBS

Midweek Children's & Youth Clubs

Our midweek clubs are a place to have fun, make new friends, and enjoy time together. Alongside games and fun activities, we take time to explore who God is and share something of His love for us.

REACH is a fun and welcoming group where children can make friends, enjoy activities, and discover more about God.

Each week we enjoy games, challenges, tuck, a short God slot and a relaxed time to chat and build friendships. REACH is a safe, welcoming space where children can have fun, grow in their faith and feel part of our church family.

We’d love to welcome your child to REACH!

Years 8-11

Rise

RISE is our Friday evening for teenagers - a place to have fun, make friends, ask questions, and discover more about God’s love.

Each week is different, from film nights and games, to our “Grill a Leader” night. Whether we’re tackling a difficult question about faith, sharing life together, or battling it out in a game of dodgeball, RISE is a relaxed and welcoming space where our young people can have fun, build friendship and grow in their faith.

Discipleship

Girl’s Discipleship Group

Thursday | 7.00-9.00pm

Our Girl’s Discipleship group is a space for girls to grow in their faith, ask question, build friendships, and discover what it means to follow Jesus in everyday life.

Through Bible study, honest conversations, prayer, and time together, we encourage one another, support each other, and grow deeper in our relationship with God.

NEWDAY

Faith, Friendship, Fun, Jesus

Newday is an annual Christian youth festival where young people from churches across the UK come together for a week of worship, teaching, fun, and friendship.

It’s a great opportunity for our young people to encounter God, grow in their faith, ask big questions, and be encouraged to follow Jesus alongside thousands of other young Christians.

From worship and Bible teaching to games, activities, and time together, Newday is a highlight of the year for our youth and a chance to discover more of what it means to live for Jesus.

SAFEGUARDING

Keeping everyone safe

Safeguarding is important to us as a church family and is central to all our ministries. We are committed to creating a safe environment where children, young people, and adults are valued, respected, and cared for.

All our Children & Youth leaders and servers are church members, DBS checked, and have undertaken safeguarding training.

We recognise the important place children and young people have within the life of the church and value the unique contribution each person brings to our church family. We believe the wellbeing of every child and adult is of the highest importance, and we have policies and procedures in place to help protect and care for everyone who is part of our community.

We expect everyone who serves at Lowestoft Community Church – especially our leaders, trustees and all who work with children, young people, or adults with care and support needs – to play their part in creating a safe and welcoming environment that upholds the dignity and value of every individual.

If you have any concerns regarding the safety or wellbeing of a child, young person or adult with care and support needs, please speak to a member of our safeguarding team.
