WHO WE ARE

We are family

OUR VISION

A church family on a mission

Lowestoft Community Church is a church family on a mission: a harbour for Lowestoft and a port to the nations.

A Church Family

  • We want to be a church where every person finds a loving spiritual family.

  • We are committed to being a community where the love of Jesus is radically expressed.

  • A community that does life together, supporting and upholding one another through every season.

  • We don’t want to settle for the superficial: we want LCC to be a place of deep love and unity.

  • Everything we do flows out of this. It is as a family that we go on mission together.

Harbour for Lowestoft

  • We want to be a harbour for Lowestoft: a place of salvation from the storm.

  • A harbour’s lighthouses guide ships into the safety and shelter of the harbour.

  • We are to shine out the hope of the gospel into our town, bringing people into the safe harbour of our church family.

  • Like a harbour, we want to be a place of restoration (healing and freedom), refuelling (equipping and empowering), and rerouting (sending on mission).

Port to the Nations

  • We want to be a port to the nations: a base for both sending and receiving.

  • God has prophetically called us to be like the Antioch church in Acts 13.

  • The nations will come to us, and we will send to the nations.

  • As the sun rises in the east and sets in the west, so God wants to build things into us that will be taken into the nations.

OUR VALUES

What we believe and how we live it

Word-Based

We believe in the absolute truthfulness, sufficiency and final authority of Scripture. This value is expressed through the Bible having the central place in governing doctrine, practice, ethos and patterns of church life.

(Colossians 1:25, 1 Thessalonians 2:13, 2 Timothy 3:16-17, 2 Timothy 4:1-5)

Grace-Filled

The message of grace and the gospel is central to the Christian life and local church. Grace ought to be expressed in relation to salvation, church life, relationships and leadership style. We see our salvation as a work of God from start to finish.

(Ephesians 2:8-10, Acts 11:23, Colossians 1:6)

Spirit-Empowered

We believe that all the gifts in Scripture are available and desirable today for building the local church and extending the Kingdom of God. We believe every believer should be filled with the Spirit as part of God’s desire to empower us for Christian life and witness.

(Ephesians 5:18, Acts 1:7-8, Galatians 3:1-5, 1 Corinthians 12:1-7)

OUR TEAM

Meet the people who serve our church family

We believe the Bible gives us a clear picture of what leadership looks like within the local church.

We believe godly leadership is team-focused and led by one man, Jesus Christ.

Elders

We believe that God raises up elders and pastors, and that the church recognises those called to govern and shepherd the church family.

Our team of elders carries responsibility before God for the doctrine, discipline, direction and devotion of the church. They are committed to leading, serving and caring for our church family, seeking God’s wisdom as we follow Jesus together.

Our Teams

God has gifted many people within our church family to serve in different ways.

Some are released to serve in full-time or part-time roles, helping us care well for our church family and love our town.

  • - Our Eldership Team serves us as Pastors, shepherding and caring for the church.

  • - Our Office Team serves the everyday running of the church.

  • - Our Deacons and Team Leaders serve across the different ministries and areas of our church life.

  • - Our Trustees serve us in legal governance and compliance.

We are thankful for all our teams that serve us as a church family!

Our Affiliations

We are thankful to be connected with wider church networks and ministries that share our heart for seeing the gospel of Jesus proclaimed and the Kingdom of God extended.

These partnerships encourage us, strengthen us, and help us play our part in what God is doing locally, nationally and beyond.

Building Kingdom relationships that strengthen churches and communities.

A global family of churches making disciples and planting churches.

Uniting evangelical Christians around a shared biblical faith.

HOW IT ALL BEGAN

Our Story

In 1985, a group of around 30 people met for the first time as a new church in Lowestoft. Following a season of seeking God and recognising a need for something new, a vision began to emerge for a local church built on New Testament principles.

Lowestoft Community Church was born out of a desire to see church life reflect the heart and purposes of Jesus—a community shaped by Scripture, empowered by the Holy Spirit, and centred on loving God and one another.

This new beginning flowed from the lives of individuals who had experienced being baptised in the Holy Spirit, alongside a growing conviction that church was never intended to be simply about religious activity or human tradition, but about a living relationship with Jesus and one another.

The Lord gave us a new wineskin to contain and channel the new wine He was pouring out – and an adventure began!

In 2026, we celebrated 40 years of Lowestoft Community Church. We are so thankful for everyone who has served and helped shape our church family over the years, and we look ahead with faith and expectation, knowing that God has so much more in store for us.

A Town with Revival Heritage

Lowestoft has a rich Christian heritage. Many people will be familiar with the story of the Lowestoft Revival, a significant move of God that impacted our town and reached beyond its borders.

While Lowestoft Community Church was established later, we are so grateful for the faithfulness of those who have gone before us. We continue to pray that God would move powerfully in Lowestoft today, bringing hope, transformation, and a renewed awareness of His presence in our town.
